  Writer / director Craig Brewer (Hustle & Flow, Black Snake Moan) offers a new take on the beloved 1984 movie classic, Footloose. Ren McCormack (played by newcomer Kenny Wormald) from Boston to the small southern town of Bomont, where he transplanted a heavy dose of culture shock experiences. A few years ago was the community through a tragic accident that killed five teenagers after a night out and Bomont local councilors and the beloved Reverend Shaw Moore (Dennis Quaid) responded by implementing regulations prohibit the loud music and dance shaken. No one to bow to the status quo, Ren challenges the prohibition on the revitalization of the city and falls for the troubled minister's daughter Ariel (Julianne Hough), in the process.

Hustle & Flow director Craig Brewer takes the helm for this remake of the popular 1984 musical romance about a big-city teenager in a city that has banned dancing moves. Uprooted from Boston and reluctantly the small Bible Belt town Bomont is transplanted, Ren McCormack (Kenny Wormald) in an oppressed community is still a devastating loss. Shortly before he arrived in Bomont, five local teenagers died in a tragic car accident after a local dance. As a result, the left upright Reverend Shaw Moore (Dennis Quaid) and the local councilors a strict regulation banning excessively loud music and dance.
